Welcome to the McLane’s web world We are now in Beautiful Broomfield, our little town in Colorful Colorado (please excuse the Dreadful Descriptions). The elevation is 5,344 feet above sea level, or in NY terms, we are living at the top of Mt. Marcy. Broomfield is approximately halfway between Denver (16 mi. southeast) and Boulder (15 mi. northwest). Broomfield was originally founded as the town of Zang’s Spur (railroad, that is) named for A.J.Zang, owner and founder of Zang’s Brewery. The towns name changed around 1900 to Broomfield in tribute to the vast quantity of “broom corn” grown throughout the area. Weather in Broomfield is moderate in temperature and on the dry side.
Our wait for construction to finish is now over and we are just starting the moving process and settling into our new home (something we have been really looking forward to doing). For those wondering, we closed on the house here in Broomfield one year (less two days) after closing on our home in Delmar. Needless to say, we are not planning another move for a while.
